It has been more than 2 years since I've posted?! I guess I should add this to the list of things I am failing at. I started this blog not for followers but to remember all the little things about my family and children. Over two years have past and I have probably forgotten much and much has changed.
Since the last post I accepted a position as a school social worker, returned to a full time job, we lived with my mother-in-law for one week, an extended stay hotel for two weeks, and an apartment for seven months while we built a house. We moved into our Denver home in July 2015. Tatum is now eight years old. She completed kindergarten and first grade at BECS. She then transferred to the elementary school Dustin is AP at last year. She will be in third grade this year and continues to excel in school. She had several medical issues this past year; TMJ and sleep apnea being the two biggest. This spring/summer she had braces placed on her top teeth and her tonsils removed. Brock is now four years old. He attended ECE-3 last year, doing wonderful. This year he will be in ECE-4. He is growing into a sweet, loving little boy to everyone outside of our home and a terabit to is family at home. Britton is now two-and-a-half years old. She is the boss of the house! She is the most stubborn, demanding, and independent of all three. Yet, she is sweet. I melt when I hear her say "you snuggle me" or "I snuggle you", totally forgetting it is a command not a question :). All three kiddos are smart, funny, and corky in their own ways yet challenging.
This summer has been the most challenging. I have been exhausted due to not sleeping well at night. Mornings are the most difficult time of day. Afternoons, after a nap are better. I've tried to schedule fun activities but being exhausted I'm not enjoying them. Rather I become easily frustrated with the kiddos and then no one is having fun. I had three goals this summer: 1) all three children would sleep in their own bedrooms, 2) Britton would potty train and 3) we would have a fun summer. Well I failed my goals and am failing as a mom. Brock still, after a year in this home, will not sleep in his room. He has literally slept in his room 1 night. Each night, after hours of running around, playing with his sister, and keeping them awake he finally falls asleep on the floor either outside our door or in our room next to my side of the bed. Nothing seems to work. We tried bridery big and small, Zarbee's Children's Melatonin Suppliment, and now essential oils. Nothing! Britton has no interest in potty training. Nothing more to say on the matter. And as I stated above it has been a challenging summer, not fun. At lunch today Britton throw a piece of her sandwich bread at me becaue I would not get her milk while she screamed a me. Brock screeched and whinned, as he does All.The.Time, because it was a turkey sandwich not a ham sandwich... just antoher normal day.
